Meet Our Founder
Margot Heard founded Lazy A Ranch in Bellville, Texas, with her husband Bill after purchasing the property in 2008. Margot’s passion for ranching was influenced by her father, Tom Terry, a pioneering Texas farmer and cattleman. After a successful career in education as the head of Saint Nicholas School in Houston, Margot and Bill decided to return to their roots in rural Texas. They established a certified grass-fed beef operation, focusing on raising Akaushi and British White cattle under Holistic Management principles. Margot’s commitment to animal welfare, pasture health, and high-quality beef production reflects her deep-seated values and dedication to serving families and local communities.
