Margot Heard founded Lazy A Ranch in Bellville, Texas, with her husband Bill after purchasing the property in 2008. With a background in education and a deep-rooted passion for ranching, Margot was influenced by her father, Tom Terry, a pioneering Texas farmer and cattleman. After years of leading Saint Nicholas School in Houston, she and Bill decided to return to their roots. They embraced holistic management principles, focusing on animal welfare and pasture health. Their goal was to raise Akaushi and British White cattle that would provide high-quality grass-fed beef for families and local communities.
