Meet Our Founder

Margot Heard founded Lazy A Ranch in Bellville, Texas, alongside her husband Bill after purchasing the property in 2008. With a background in education and a deep-rooted passion for ranching, Margot was influenced by her father, Tom Terry, a pioneering Texas farmer and cattleman. After years of leading Saint Nicholas School in Houston, she and Bill transitioned to rural Texas to raise Akaushi and British White cattle. Their focus on Holistic Management principles emphasizes animal welfare, pasture health, and the production of high-quality grass-fed beef for families and local communities.
