The Heart Behind Lazy A Ranch

Lazy A Ranch was founded by Margot Heard and her husband Bill in Bellville, Texas, after they purchased the property in 2008. Margot grew up surrounded by ranching and cattle work, influenced by her father, Tom Terry, a pioneering Texas farmer and cattleman. After a successful career in education as the head of Saint Nicholas School in Houston, Margot and Bill decided to return to their roots. They began raising Akaushi and British White cattle under Holistic Management principles, focusing on animal welfare, pasture health, and providing high-quality grass-fed beef for families and local communities. Margot’s passion for sustainable farming and commitment to quality shines through in every aspect of Lazy A Ranch.
