Our beef is raised in a natural environment, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and nutrition. American Grassfed Certified Beef for Your Family
Choosing American Grassfed Certified Beef means selecting meat that is not only nutritious but also ethically produced. Our beef is sourced from cattle that have been raised on pasture, allowing them to graze naturally. This method enhances the flavor and nutritional profile of the meat, making it a perfect choice for health-conscious families in Calhoun County.
American Grassfed Association Beef for Quality Assurance
Lazy A Ranch is proud to be part of the American Grassfed Association, which sets strict standards for grassfed beef. This certification ensures that our beef is raised without antibiotics or hormones, providing families with peace of mind. When you choose our beef, you are supporting a sustainable farming practice that prioritizes animal welfare and environmental health.
Certified Grassfed Ranch Committed to Excellence
As a certified grassfed ranch, Lazy A Ranch adheres to rigorous guidelines that promote the health of our cattle and the land. Our commitment to excellence means that families in Calhoun County receive beef that is not only delicious but also produced with integrity. We believe in transparency, allowing our customers to know exactly where their food comes from.
Animal Welfare Beef for Peace of Mind
Animal welfare is at the heart of our operations. We prioritize the well-being of our cattle, ensuring they are treated humanely throughout their lives. Families can feel good about serving our beef, knowing that it comes from animals raised in a stress-free environment. This commitment to animal welfare translates into better quality meat for your table.
Pasture Raised Beef for Healthier Living
Our pasture raised beef is a healthier alternative to conventionally raised meat. Cattle that graze on pasture produce leaner meat with higher levels of omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants. For families in Calhoun County, this means enjoying a nutritious meal that supports overall health and well-being.
No Grain Finished Beef for Natural Flavor
Lazy A Ranch offers no grain finished beef, which means our cattle are never fed grains. Instead, they thrive on a natural diet of grass and forage. This method enhances the flavor of the beef, making it a favorite among families who appreciate quality and taste. Our commitment to natural feeding practices ensures that you receive the best possible product.
Alfalfa Finished Beef for Superior Quality
In addition to our grass-fed practices, we also provide alfalfa finished beef. Alfalfa is a nutrient-rich forage that contributes to the exceptional flavor and tenderness of our meat. Families in Calhoun County can enjoy the benefits of this high-quality beef, knowing it is produced with care and attention to detail.

The Founder’s Story
Margot Heard founded Lazy A Ranch in Bellville, Texas, alongside her husband Bill after purchasing the property in 2008. With a deep-rooted passion for ranching, Margot was influenced by her father, Tom Terry, a pioneering Texas farmer and cattleman. After a successful career in education as the head of Saint Nicholas School in Houston, Margot and Bill decided to return to their roots. They embraced Holistic Management principles, focusing on animal welfare, pasture health, and producing high-quality grass-fed beef for families and local communities. Margot’s dedication to sustainable practices and her love for the land drive the mission of Lazy A Ranch.
